Quite possibly the most hateful woman in the world

Goodness, that woman is just MEAN.

We all know she has no love for Canada (or France, or any country that's not predominantly Christian...), but now political pundit and author Ann Coulter has called 9/11 widows "witches."

But wait, it gets worse.

"I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much," Coulter writes in her book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," published on Tuesday, referring to four women who headed a campaign that resulted in the creation of the September 11 Commission that investigated the hijacked plane attacks.

Coulter wrote that the women were millionaires as a result of compensation settlements and were "reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis."
...

The four women ... issued a statement saying they had been slandered.

"There was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again," said the statement.
...

[Coulter] criticized them for making a campaign advertisement for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry in 2004, and added: "By the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy."

Other gems by Ann Coulter:

After the 9/11 attacks, she said,
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

And she wrote in a book,
"Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like liberals do."

The hatred that some people can spew never ceases to amaze me.

  1. I think she found she could get famous by being the posterchild of evil and hate. And the US Networks are too stupid to realize she's a crank that deserves as much air time as an exploding gas bag.

But I guess some people can be as crazy as she comes across. After all, she has thousands of fans who eat up her garbage.

  2. I suppose the media puts her on because she attracts attention, no such things as bad publicity and all that.

She doesn't really get my blood pressure going though, she's too out there for anyone to follow her; who the fuck would think she's someone worth listening to/endorsing?

The ones that freak me out are the ones who are just barely hiding what they are, you know, like the new conservative/alliance/reform Harper. They don't come off as rabidly as they once did, but many of the original scaries are still major players in the party. Mercer had a nice line-up of old quotes on his blog shortly before the election.

  3. They're attacking her on Metafilter now too.

  4. They're pretty amazing statements to make, and she does not seem to have any conception, or at least care, of how demented she portrays herself to be. If there is something positive about her words, it might be that it just shows that we actually do live in a society where free speech is allowed .. then again, it's up to media to determine just what messages get out there. They have their own agendas too, as a previous blogger mentioned, it does attract attention for media.

  5. SkylarKD, those quotes from Ann Coulter are not true. They were made up by Freeway Blogger as a sort of test? ...or sumpin'.

But believeable, huh?. She's said some terrible things and I agree with you that she is the most repulsive human being in the world.

  6. Thanks Helmut! Those comments (admitting that the quotes are fake) weren't posted when I linked to it. Link removed!

Weird that he/she would need to make up quotes though; it's not like Ann Coulter hasn't said enough terrible things to quote.

  7. Just thought you would be interested in tomorrow's Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Ann Coulter and George Carlin are guests, so it could be a heated discussion.
